Maltodextrin – 500g

Maltodextrin is sometimes used in beer brewing to increase the specific gravity of the final product. This improves the mouthfeel of the beer, increases head retention and reduces the dryness of the drink. Maltodextrin is not fermented by yeast, so it does not increase the alcohol content of the brew. Maltodextrin only adds body, with seetness and is ideally used for porters and Stout style beers.

How much maltodextrin do you add to beer?
These changes can affect the perceived taste of the beer, but maltodextrin itself does not contribute any significant sweetness. Recommended application: Typical usage is between 5g-12g per liter depending on the style of beer.
