Gelatine – 100g

Gelatine works like other fining agents when added to cold beer – it helps speed up the clarification process. It “grabs” proteins and other haze forming particulates and helps them settle out faster. Adding gelatin to the fermenter, you’ll be racking will mean cleaner, clearer beer into the keg. Usually added directy to beer in the keg or into a secondary fermenter if you will be bottling.

How to use Gelatine (per 22L batch):

  1. Dissolve 1 Teaspoon of gelatine in 3/4 cup of warm water.
  2. Heat the dissolved solution in the microwave (5-10 seconds at a time) until it reaches 65-70 C
  3. Pour the solution directly into the keg / secondary fermenter before adding the beer
  4. Purge oxygen or add air lock.
